2 bulbs burnt out and 1 broken upon arrival. You need to have spare bulbs for these anyway, as this kind can burn out after a few months (although most keep going much longer), so I was already prepared for that, and these are very easily replaced. Still a shame to have to do it straight out of the box. They look great, though, and were relatively easy to hang. Although it takes extra work, I strongly recommend mounting them on a cable, even if they're just going on your patio awning like mine, because the spacing is difficult otherwise - but that's not particular to this brand.Exactly what I was looking for and each bulb was functional. What is not mentioned in the description is that the male and female leads on each end of a string are 6 inches long. The manufacturer told me that the short leads were to keep the spacing between bulbs at one foot when multiple strings are attached in series.I secured 2 parallel 25-bulb strings to the underside of a 14' x 31' pergola, 6' apart, for a uniform, soft, pleasant glow (total of 350 watts).I attached each string to a 14-gage, 27-foot, galvanized steel wire. I did this with no bulbs in the strings to prevent breakage, and it was not easy. After each string was properly hung, I screwed in the 50 bulbs. The bulbs added just enough weight to hang properly, instead of the solo light weight sockets pointing in all directions.Great lights. However, you should know that according to the labels on the string of lights you should not connect more than 60 lights total. That means you should only connect two strings together not three like the description says. Also, mine came with a label that stated these are for "temporary (90 days max) installation & use only." Therefore, this statement in the description "These durable and heavy duty light strings will provide you with years of maintenance free use" is kind of inaccurate. Mine work great though and I'll have to see about the durability.I have had 2 sets of these lights for 4 years and they still work great. Ordered more for an event. For the money, they are excellent. You need heavy wire to attach them to so they hang properly across a space.These are honestly the BEST lights. I got them for my bedroom when we moved and could not be happier with them. The bulbs themselves are actual glass instead of plastic, come detached from the string, and are bright. Packing up to move again and they're still perfect. Easy to handle, and I noticed that one bulb has gone out, and none of the rest are affected, which is nice. Bulbs are easy to find and replace on Amazon, relatively cheap and easily.In a few weeksThe lights were exactly what we needed and fit their description but three bulbs did not work after testing both strands. I contacted amazon and they said they were unable to replace the bulbs or give me a refund becasue the strand of lights is from a third party. If purchased I would suggest buying a few replacement bulbs online becasue they do not sell the same g50 base 7 watt bulbs anywhere else.two of the bulbs on the strand will not stay lit and you do not get any extra bulbs other than the 25 for each socket... the strand does stay on even if the 2 bulbs are not working....I was very careful while putting them up so as not to bang the bulbs...not sure if it is a socket problem they are at a different location than where I am while writing this review...... but I have 4 more strands to hang so hopefully it will be a better experience!
