I got this bulb to put in my shop. Currently, I'd put in some CFL bulbs that my power company gave out to promote energy savings. They work, but he downside is that they take a while to come up to full brightness. They start dull and have to warm slightly before they're fully bright. There are pros and cons to this. I went from LED back to CFL on my nightstand, because LED comes on full brightness, and that's pretty harsh when you're just waking up.However, I've have the opposite problem in the shop. Typically, I just need to pop in real quick and grab something, then go back out to work. I'm usually gone before the CFL have warmed up enough to provide real light.That's where this light really helps. It comes on immediately and is very bright. You can see in the pictures that it also throws more light than the CFL does. I'm happy with it, and may replace the other bulbs with similar fixtures.The only downside to it, and it's not one of the product, but of how I'm using it, is the brightness. In the picture I left the paddles tilted upward so that it cast the light further. However, I need to try turning them flatter, because it does punch you in the eye when you walk in the shop. That extra brightness will be great when I'm looking down, working on a project, but it's a little too bright at that level.Again, I think they were designed to go in a garage ceiling and be higher up, where as I have it installed at 8'. So it's not that big of a deal. I also think that turning the paddles flat down will work just fine. I really do like the fact that it's at full brightness as soon as you turn it on.It's also easy to install. It definitely weighs more than a standard bulb, but isn't that heavy. It is easy to install, with a standard bulb fitting on the back. It just screws in like any other light bulb. I didn't let it run for a while to see what kind of heat it put out, but I'm sure there is some kind of heat sink in the base, as I don't know why else it would be that bulky. It's not unique to this brand as I have a similar bulb and it's about the same size.The two pictures are during the day, but in the furthest corner of the shop from said window, and with (3) other CFL bulbs going. Forgive the mess, as we're building some benches on the other wall and have everything piled up here.The light was very easy to install and provided great light at first. Then two of the four lights stopped working and the third dimmed considerably. Received a replacement and within a few weeks, the same problem occurred.I’ve wanted a garage light replacement to be able to see better in my garage. Got this quad light assembly to replace my standard single bulb, and wow it makes a huge difference. I added a comparison photo to show how bright this thing is. Also glad that this was very easy to install. Just had to unscrew my old lightbulb and install this one. This makes it easier on my camera when I’m filming in the garage, as I can skip bringing my light ring with this in.
