Lights work for a few minutes, but not lighting enough time. Enough 2 hours more would I saying very good but I these are fair lights.Puts out mediocre light, but exactly suited my purpose which was to mark a gate at night to prevent cars from driving into it. Light lasts almost entire night in summer.The products look fairly streamlined on our railing, but even after several days of direct LA sunshine they are just very dim. The bulbs are less bright than a normal small xmas light (the kind on a strong) for reference. Not bright enough to even shine on the floor.Also, very fragile. If they fall on the floor at all while you're installing them they will fall to pieces. Most are easy to put back together though.We are renting and didn't want to drill, so I got outdoor command strips to stick to the railing. They work fine, but will need to be doubled or bent in half, as the indent under the light housing makes a gap.They were worth a try, but not worth the money. Ill have to replace them soon.I did look at the measurements before buying, but these things are a whole lot smaller than anticipated! I haven't measured them but they fit in palm of my hand, & look to be maybe 2-2 1/2in wide max. Which did mean they fit almost perfect on top rim of our black metal pool gate! I got tired of waiting for him to go buy screws to install them since the ones they send with these simply wont screw into a metal/aluminium security fence. So I actually used doubled sided tape, which actually ended up costing me two of them since there so small & he ended mowing over them when they fell off. So far these do work fairly well, & cum on when gets dark out, but unless you simply want a teeny lite for ambience purposes, than this isnt tha light for you. I actually wanted to illuminate the area around our pool so we could hopefully see hazards like snakes better at night around our pool so felt more comfortable using it at night. But unfortunately these may illuminate at max 1 ft around it, so light don't even reach ground. These are more for decrative purposes than anything, they definitely aren't ment to provide any type of signifigant functional lighting!I ordered 2 orders of 16 = 32 pieces. I also ordered the Amazon product protection and thank goodness I did because I expect all of them to eventually go bad. 3 out of 32 didn't work out of the box. Another one always stayed on because it's light sensor didn't work. I ordered one replacement order from Amazon thinking it would be silly since I only needed 4 - but that's how Amazon returns work. Its not the first time I've had to order a replacement because pieces were broken or missing. It's actually a plus for the way Amazon does business.By the time I planned to send the defective ones back - 16 were bad. That's did rate of 50%. Some of them stop lighting after a few days. The replacement period has passed, so I'll have to get them replaced with the Amazon insurance I bought.If these worked, they would be great. It's only one single LED light, but it's bright enough to light the way for steps. However, I have better luck at the Dollar stores with the solar powered lights that cost $1, and even they have their duds and accept no returns, but their dud rate is more like 3 out of 50 rather than these, which are 25/50. I also noticed the ones I pay $6-$10 for each have even better dud rates and are brighter.If I had to judge these against the other solar lights I have bought from other brands, they should be priced about 40 cents a piece - since over half of them die within a couple weeks. At 40 cents each, I wouldn't be upset at this many duds except for the inconvenience of uninstalling them. There is a product that looks just like these at the local big box hardware store, except they cost $6 each - they aren't the same. These are cheap knockoffs. If you must buy them, expect a greater than 50% failure rate and I strongly recommend buying the Amazon insurance with them.I purchased multiple sets of these lights. They worked for a few months and stopped. Not happy...Perfect for fence posts. Exactly what we needed.Easy to install but unfortunately the batteries that come with it I had 4 sets die within the 1st 2 days
